The National Spelling Bee ended with a Kansas girl correctly spelling the word, “Laodicean” which means lukewarm or indifferent in religion or politics.

The 13 year old, Kavya Shivashankar, was making her fourth trip at the bee, having finished 10th, eight, and fourth.  She plays violin, bicycles, swimming, and learning Indian classical dance.
